Azure Jewellery, Yorkshire
Owned by Lee and Kerry Dawson, Azure Jewellery is based in Garforth, West Yorkshire. Azure presents an authentic, honest, consultative approach to bespoke jewellery creation, from creating a brand new item of jewellery to remodelling of existing pieces.
All Azure jewellery is handcrafted onsite by Lee Dawson, manufacturing goldsmith.
If preferred, Azure offers the option of ethically sourced man made diamonds. Also known as engineered or cultured diamonds are grown in highly controlled laboratory environments. These beautiful diamonds share the same characteristic diamond crystal structure as mined diamonds. They exhibit the same optical and chemical properties and make equally stunning pieces.
Azure came to us because they wanted to move from a brochure website to an eCommerce website. A brochure website is like a digital version of a printed brochure but Azure were now ready to sell their products online.
Azure supplied their own images for each exquisite piece of jewellery. Our mission was to present the images to their best effect and in easily navigated product categories.
Finally, Azure wanted the very best account management for their customers, including a secure, friction-free checkout experience.
An eCommerce site is a brochure site and an online shop, perfect for a business like Azure. We agreed that the way forward for them was a bespoke WordPress site with WooCommerce, giving excellent ease of control for their customers and easy to manage sales metrics in the ‘back office’ of the site. Stripe was chosen as the most suitable payment platform.
What is WooCommerce?
“WooCommerce is an open-source e-commerce plugin for WordPress. It is designed for small to large-sized online merchants using WordPress. Launched on September 27, 2011, the plugin quickly became popular for its simplicity to install and customise and for the market position of the base product as freeware (even though many of its optional extensions are paid and proprietary).”
What is Stripe?
Stripe is an online payment and credit card processing platform for eCommerce businesses. In layman’s terms, when a customer purchases an item on your internet business, the platform transfers money from a customer’s bank account into your business account via a credit card or debit card transaction.
eCommerce and internet businesses can accept payments from mobile wallets and “buy now, pay later” services like Klarna.
Here are some examples of types of companies that use Stripe to power their payment processing:
- eCommerce stores
- Retail online stores
- B2B platforms
- Software as a service
- B2C marketplace
- Nonprofits and fundraisers “
The Azure homepage is simple, classic and exceptionally easy to navigate. Customers can easily browse the product range by type, access their account or click through to the Service Page to learn a little more about Azure.
The Service Page
The service page gives much more of a feel to the business and what it offers. FAQs are covered and there are plenty of opportunities to contact the company with other queries.
How it looks on mobile devices
The mobile version of Azure’s website gives an excellent user experience, gliding seamlessly through easily navigated pages.
